CLA East: Maximising your media profile

Securing positive media coverage about your rural business can result in significant benefits but how do you go about engaging with journalists to tell your story?

This webinar will focus on two areas of media engagement. The first will look at how rural businesses can enhance their presence in traditional print and broadcast media and also through social media. The second part will touch on how to manage unwanted media attention during a crisis communications situation.

Our panel will be:

James White, Managing Director, Media First

Media First provides bespoke media and communications training to a wide range of businesses, large and small. Their team of current working journalists delivers bespoke, authentic and realistic training so that organisations can communicate with confidence, credibility and control.

Chris Hill, Agricultural Editor, Eastern Daily Press
Chris is an experienced journalist working for the Eastern Daily Press, writing about agriculture, food and farming.

Tom Martin, Farmer and CLA committee member

Tom runs a mixed sheep and arable farm near Peterborough. Tom has a strong social media profile and is also the founder of Farmer Time which uses digital communications to inspire, engage and educate young people about farming and the agricultural industry.

Dulcie Crickmore, Fen Farm Dairy

Dulcie and her husband Jonny are owners of Fen Farm Dairy in Suffolk, a family business that has diversified from a traditional dairy to now include a specialist cheese making operation. Dulcie overseas the marketing and business development at the farm and the couple are experienced at conducting national and local media interviews.

The webinar will be chaired by CLA East Communications Manager Lee Murphy
