Rushall Organics is a family run 5000 acre organic farm in the Pewsey Vale of Wiltshire.

The Wookey family first moved to the estate in 1928 and have been organic since 1970. The farming side of the business incorporates 2000 acres of arable, 2500 acres of grass and the remainder in either woodland, cover crop or stewardship agreement. The farm is currently in higher tier Countryside Stewardship, which is due to expire in 2024. The family also own and manage a 5000-tonne grain store, which is TASCC assured and organically certified, storing cereals for many other organic farmers around the country supporting several different supply chains.

Further to this, the family runs its own commercial pheasant and partridge shoot, hosting around 35 days a season, as well as running simulated clay days in the summer months. 

Running through the centre of the holding is the River Avon, where a large tree planting scheme has been conducted in recent years. There are also some trout and grayling fishing lets here.

In 2017 the Chalk Barn, where our AGM will be held, was opened. This stunning venue hosts the shoots, but also several weddings, corporate and private events throughout the year as part of the estate's diversification strategy that it is committed to.

Following the AGM formalities, Joe Wookey will be leading a tour from Chalk Barn, pointing out many aspects of the farm that can be seen from the raised elevation of the Barn's location. He will explain why the farm has chosen to go in the direction it has and he will also touch on future plans for Rushall Organics.

This is a great chance to see an active family farm looking with positivity and energy towards the future.
