The Midlands team is very pleased to launch the 2022 season of Visits and AGMs by inviting you to a bespoke day at JCB Rocester, by kind permission of Lord Bamford.

This will be a joint visit, and will include brief AGMs for Derbyshire and Staffordshire, as well as enjoying am exclusive opportunity to see behind the scenes of JCB, still very much a family firm known for its innovation, ambition and hard work. It employs 11,000 people worldwide. 

The day will begin with both AGMs being held in the JCB theatre, where you will also hear from a CLA national officer and a JCB guest speaker. 

Members will enjoy tea and coffee before the start of the morning tours of the JCB factory and Wootton Estate.

A two course hot buffet lunch will be served before the reverse tours in the afternoon. 

We anticipate this event to be extremely popular, so please ensure that you book early.

 

WOOTTON ESTATE

Owned and preserved by the Bamford family, this historic estate comprises over 2,600 acres of some of the best arable and grazing land in the country, deemed by many to be a model of excellence in organic farming.

As well as the world famous manufacturing and test facilities, forestry, lakes, amenity land and housing, Wootton is also home to the largest herd of red deer in the country. Certified fully organic, the deer live free to roam with virtually no human contact, resulting in tender, organic venison of a consistent quality and taste.

Also to be found on this diverse estate are 30 Aberdeen Angus cattle, 2,200 breeding ewes, 12,000 chickens, 1,200 turkeys and over 400 acres of arable land growing oats, spring beans, mixed vegetables, forage crops and game cover.

FACTORY TOUR

This bespoke tour for CLA members includes a short screening in the JCB Theatre and time to visit the Story of JCB exhibition. A guided tour will then take you to the assembly line of the world famous Backhoe Loader machine to see how the machines are built from the first delivery of sheet steel, through profiling, laser cutting, welding, painting, assembly and finally the finished product.
