CLA East: 2022 Hertfordshire & Middlesex Branch AGM and Summer Visit

Book Now: Last few tickets remaining

Easneye Estate is the spectacular location for the CLA Hertfordshire and Middlesex AGM and visit.
The mansion at Easneye was built in 1867-69 by Alfred Waterhouse for Thomas Fowell Buxton and is
now home to All Nations Christian College. In 1971 three missionary training colleges combined to form
All Nations at the site near Ware. Since then it has become one of the largest centres in Western Europe
for the training of missionaries. At this CLA visit you will hear about the work of the college in its training
of students in cross-cultural Christian mission.

During your tour of the Estate, you will see where the Buxton family have worked with volunteers to plant
150 trees as part of The Queen’s Green Canopy, an initiative to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.
You will see new ponds that have been created, and others that have been restored, as part of an ambitious
new project being undertaken in partnership with the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group (FWAG). The aim
is to support habitats for great crested newts.

Alongside the ponds and an extensive Countryside Stewardship scheme, there is impressive river management
along a 7-mile stretch of the River Ash, with monitoring for unique wildlife, and work on chalk streams in
partnership with Hertfordshire and Middlesex Wildlife Trust. Easneye is also home to two thriving business
centres and there will be an opportunity to learn more about this commercial venture during the day.

This visit is by kind permission of the Buxton family.
