VENUE

Manor Farm (the home of Wadswick Country Store) in Wadswick, Wiltshire, is situated within 450 acres of arable and energy producing farmland and is currently run by two generations of the Barton family.

 An agricultural contracting business and a large flock of sheep were the original focus of the farm for Tim and Carolyn Barton but there was a recognition in the 1980s that diversifying and adding value to the land was an important step to take.

 The family began to plant their own product lines for sale including homegrown potatoes and crops for animal feed. They were originally sold by way of a wired up old car horn to attract attention but soon a fledgling feed business emerged. Having always kept horses, the decision was taken to expand into the equestrian business in the early 1990s and Wadswick Country Store was officially born.

 The shop has grown considerably over the last 30 years, moving from a small old stone barn to a purpose-built building. It is now a primary focus for the business, run by Tim and Carolyn as well as their children Jo and Alex. A large range of equestrian clothing and equipment is sold, alongside pet supplies, animal feed, fashion clothing and gifts and homeware. There is also a gunroom, state-of-the-art shooting simulator, and a restaurant, all of which employs over 50 staff members
