Join the CLA to visit a new rural home built under a Class Q permitted development, Pilgrims Barn is a super-insulated building with very low energy requirements and zero running costs.

 

 Formerly a chicken shed, the property is now in its final stages of development and has been transformed into a stunning home, with floor to ceiling glass on the southern facing elevation. The building has been specifically designed to absorb passive heat from the sun from autumn to spring.

 There are 27 kW solar panels on the roof and three Tesla power walls which store 40.5 KWhs power. There is a 6,000-litre underground water tank store and a full septic-tank system, which feeds into a reed bed pond.
