Wythall Estate near Ross-on-Wye is located in one of the finest agricultural growing areas in England. This is where the McIntyre family grow grapes to produce their fine award-winning English wines.

Owned by the family since it was built in 1520, Wythall Manor has never been sold. This unique history provides a deep family connection to the estate and an unrivalled passion to produce quality produce from it.

Current custodians Jamie, his son Angus, sister Anthea, and her husband Frank planted the vineyard in 2010 with the aim of preserving Wythall for future generations and since first release in 2014, their range of still and sparkling wines have been gaining awards and a fine reputation.

They now offer guided tours of the vines, tutored wine tastings in the Manor House, and have set up their summer ‘Wine Garden’ where guests can enjoy their full range of wines, by the glass, with seasonal platters - all in the stunning setting of the lakeside garden.

Spaces are limited to 20 spaces per session. We will begin with bookings for 12pm – 3pm. Should the event prove popular we can offer second slot of 3pm – 6pm.

You will begin with lunch (charcuterie and cheese boards), followed by a talk from Wythall Estate covering the why, when and how they planted the vineyard, followed by a vineyard tour and tasting of a trio of wines.

 

For accessibility to the vineyard there is a set of uneven steps and the ground is hilly and uneven too. There is one step down to the lunch and wine tasting area and four or five steps to the toilets.
