This visit to Hall Hunters Partnership offers the opportunity to learn more about how this dynamic business works.
Established in 1966 by Mary and Mark Hunter, their love of the traditional British farm life, led them to growing and selling vegetables for London markets, and invited customers to come and pick their own. Today Hall Hunter is now run by their son Harry Hunter.
Hall Hunter now owns three farms located in Berkshire and Surrey with Tuesley being the largest at 469 acres, home to delicious strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries.
By using market-leading crop systems to achieve optimum productivity for example the use of 100% tabletop growing for their strawberries, growing blueberries in light, spacious formations to maximise pick speed and quality, and putting the berries over their optic grader before distribution for that extra bit of care and attention, along with all crane crop being supported by 3D lateral supports providing ideal spacing for both the plant and the pickers every little detail is thought out.
The day will begin with the AGM’s and an update from our CLA President on the latest projects and issues affecting members. We will then join Harry and his team on a tractor and trailer tour of the farming operation and get a better understanding of how it all works. Following the tour you will be able to enjoy a glass of local fizz and a relaxed BBQ along with of course some delicious fruit!
