Enjoy a visit to Brice Farms, which is home to a major quarry operation, arable farm, golf business, wedding venue, solar scheme and residential and commercial lettings.
Your hosts on the day are Simon and Oliver Brice. Simon is a member of the CLA Essex Committee and national CLA Tax Committee. The business has evolved during Simon’s lifetime from a pure arable farm incorporating roots and blackcurrant enterprises, into a modern and diversified set of land-based businesses. The golf business was established in 1991, and Brice Aggregates Limited commenced operations at Colemans Farm in 2017. It provides quality sand and gravel into the Essex and London markets.
You will tour Colemans Quarry by coach and hear how the business produces and delivers primary aggregates and ready mixed concrete across the county and beyond.
During this visit you will also hear about the farming operation, management of a large reservoir, housing developments that have taken place over the years and what the impact will be for the farm if plans for a bypass at the nearby A12 go ahead. You will also learn about the production of cricket bat willow.
Lunch will be served in the Oaks Pavilion wedding venue, and you have the option to take part in the
Bear Creek adventure golf before departing.
Visit by kind permission of the Brice family.
