We are delighted to return to the Royal Cornwall Show with the popular CLA Cornish Breakfast on Day 2
The Great Cornish Land Use Debate
Cornwall faces a unique and complex set of land use challenges. With finite land resources and competing demands from tourism, agriculture, housing, infrastructure, biodiversity, and climate change mitigation, the question of how best to balance these interests has never been more pressing.
This debate seeks to explore how Cornwall can manage these competing priorities in a sustainable and strategic way — where land is at a premium and the need to find common ground is essential.
Key areas of focus will include:
• Balancing development and conservation
• Agriculture versus renewable energy
• Community needs versus environmental protection
• The role of heritage in shaping land use decisions
We hope to bring together a diverse range of voices and perspectives to contribute to this vital conversation, and to help shape a land use vision that works for Cornwall's people, economy, and environment.
We will be joined by CLA Deputy President Gavin Lane.
