CLA Webinar: The Renters Rights Bill – What does it mean for CLA members?

In this webinar for CLA members, the CLA’s Senior Legal Adviser Harry Flanagan and Senior Policy Adviser Avril Roberts will give an overview of the Renters Rights Bill. Harry and Avril will cover what changes the Bill makes to tenancies in England, including:

  •  the removal of Section 21 notices,
  • the changes to the alternative Section 8 grounds for possession,
  • the new rules governing rents
  • the new anti-discrimination rules
  • new penalties and enforcement regimes
  • and the proposed introduction of a property portal, a housing ombudsman, and a Decent Homes Standard.

In the webinar members can also expect a summary of the lobbying the CLA has done to date, as well as practical tips for how landlords of properties can prepare for the biggest change to residential tenancies in a generation. There will be an opportunity to ask Harry and Avril questions, as well as a reminder of the guidance notes, advice, and draft agreements that the CLA can provide.
