The Midlands team are delighted to invite you to a bespoke visit to Plymouth Estates and the Shropshire AGM.

Earl of Plymouth Estates Limited is a 2,100-hectare mixed farming business located in South Shropshire. Our enterprises include: a diverse range of arable crops, a 300-cow robotic dairy, beef and sheep production and extensive environmental stewardship schemes. 

The day will begin with the AGM and an update on the latest issues affecting members by CLA Director of External Affairs, Jonathan Roberts. This will be followed by an introduction to the Plymouth Estates by Robert Windsor, Director.

The day will include guided tours of High Walton Dairy with Hamish Stewart, Farms Director, a 240-cow operation with crossbred cows grazed on surrounding pastures during spring and summer months and housed indoor during the winter. Robotic technology is central to the High Walton setup, with automated systems used for milking, winter feeding, and grazing management. There will also be a tour of Ludlow Farmshop with Paul Hill, Managing Director, going behind the the scenes to the production units where you will see artisan producers making produce for the site. You will have the opportunity to find out more about how food is made and sourced and learn more about the processes that go into making award-winning products.

Following the guided tour of the farm shop, you will then have chance to explore other areas of the site with the tour continuing to Ludlow Kitchen café, Ludlow Pantry takeaway and the hotel, The Clive Arms. You will also be guided around the latest addition to the site, Ludlow Giftshop. The tour will also include a visit to onsite businesses; Ludlow Distillery, the home of Ludlow Gin and Ludlow Whisky; The Artists’ Gallery, displaying beautiful art from local artists; and T.P. Garden Buildings, Shropshire’s leading manufacturer and supplier of log cabins, safari tents and timber buildings.

You will enjoy a two course lunch before reverse tours in the afternoon.

Please ensure suitable footwear and clothing is worn as the tours will take place outdoors.
