CLA South East: Isle of Wight AGM and Autumn Social


Barton Manor is Listed in the Domesday Book in 1086 as held by King Edward of Bolla. Augustinian Monastery from 1282, known as Barton Priory, home for eight monks. It was then disbanded in 1430 and given by the Bishop of Winchester to Winchester College. Following that is was used as a tenant farm until 1845 when Queen Victoria bought it as an adjunct to Osborne House. After Victoria's death, Edward VII retained the house and began developing the gardens. Barton Manor was sold by the Crown in 1922, since when it has remained in private hands.

Please join us for our yearly AGM, a long with a talk from our president Victoria Vyvyan. Following this there will be cake and fizz and a chance to relax, chat with friends or catch up with your local CLA representatives.
