For over 100 years, the CLA has been promoting and protecting the interests of owners of agricultural and rural land in Wales and England. Our 26,000 members form a significant rural group – together they own and manage approximately half the rural land across Wales and England, and run more than 250 different types of business.
Here in Wales, we represent over 3,000 members, these include rural landowners with distinct business interests, working farmers, estates of varying sizes, and those running businesses which serve the rural community. In addition to our lobbying and advisory roles, we also arrange social and technical events throughout the year to help members engage with each other and make valuable new contacts in the business and professional communities.
CLA Cymru will host the Rural Business Conference Wales at the ICC Newport on the 5th of March 2026. The conference will focus on the Business and Political landscape being laid out for Wales and its rural communities. We will take a look in detail at the policies that will affect the rural economy along with a political session with all parties invited to sit on a panel, allowing us to look at their manifesto promises, pre the Senedd election on 7th May 2026. With a view of the world through the topics of our Manifesto document ‘This is Rural’, reiterating the key topics of the evidence based Rural Growth Cross Party Group report, produced by CLA Cymru and launched in the Senedd in March 2024, we will focus on the key items which, if working well, would help our members thrive:
Farming . Planning . Energy . Tourism . Housing . Connection
The Conference Audience
The Rural Business Conference (RBC) Cymru will bring together all sectors of the rural community in Wales.
The ICC Newport offers a highly professional venue with transport links from across Wales, the, Midlands and South West. With a capacity for up to 400 attendees, the conference will offer you as a member the opportunity to network and engage with grass root farmers, estate owners, businesses and professionals from across the industry.
The CLA Cymru membership offers a broad spectrum of possibilities to grow your business and services to a varied audience. Key policy and decision makers will be in the room, providing the opportunity to network and engage with potential clients, whilst offering a unique chance to put your own views across.
CLA & CLA Cymru are champions of rural communities and lobbying is a large part of what we deliver for our members in both the Senedd and in Westminster. With a timely political element this is your chance to be in the room and have your say.
