Commissioned by the then Defra Secretary of State Steve Reed, Baroness Batters was asked to undertake a Farming Profitability Review to examine the realities of farming in England to inform future policy. The report, published this month, sets out the challenges and opportunities with a series of recommendations for government. These recommendations will feed into the government plans for a 25-year Farming Roadmap, expected to be published in 2026.
