CLA Webinar: Planning & Infrastructure Act – what does it mean for members?

This webinar is open to CLA members and non members. It is relevant to England and Wales. The recording will be available to CLA members only.
To book on to this event, you must register to attend on MS Teams via this link here.

In this webinar, gain insight from Mark Burton, CLA Policy Adviser and Susan Twining, CLA Chief Land Use Policy Adviser on the changes brought about by the Planning and Infrastructure Act.

The Government intends that the Act will accelerate and reduce the cost of building new houses and infrastructure. It carries some possible benefits for members seeking to develop their land, and introduces some welcome streamlining to certain statutory processes. However, it also introduces further possible challenges to members affected by compulsory purchase and potentially-troubling new powers for some organisations.

You will hear about the Act’s impact on infrastructure, compulsory purchase, planning and environmental matters. This includes changes to compulsory purchase valuation, new powers for Natural England and Highways authorities, and a wide variety of procedural changes and other detail. You will gain an understanding of just what the act has changed, meaning this is particularly relevant to practitioners but is also important to anyone affected by or interested in planning and compulsory purchase.
