Heathpatch is a family-owned rural estate based in Semer, Suffolk, managing nearly 5,000 acres of farmland, woodland and diversified property. The estate has evolved over time, combining traditional farming with investment in a range of complementary businesses, whilst retaining a clear focus on long-term land ownership and responsible management.
Alongside food production, Heathpatch is actively engaged in woodland creation, landscape recovery and environmental stewardship. These initiatives sit alongside a working estate, with careful attention paid to balancing productivity, resilience and environmental outcomes.
Your tractor trailer ride will visit Nedging Hall Estate and event barn, followed by a guided walk of the kitchen gardens and butchery that supply their pubs. The tour continues through the West Suffolk Hospital biodiversity project to Dairy Farm, where malting barley is grown for the beers brewed at Mauldons Brewery, before returning past solar sites, new hedgerows and tree plantations.
The estate also supports a number of rural enterprises and tenancies, contributing to the local economy and maintaining historic landscapes. Heathpatch values strong relationships with its tenants, neighbours and the wider rural community, and hosts the CLA Suffolk AGM as part of its ongoing commitment to collaboration and shared learning among landowners.
