CLA South West: Behind the Scenes at Portland Port

CLA members are invited to join an exclusive visit to Portland Port, led by Bill Reeves, offering an insightful behind-the-scenes look at one of the South Coast’s most strategically important ports.

The visit will provide an overview of Portland Port’s operations, its role in supporting regional trade, infrastructure, and economic growth, as well as the opportunities and challenges facing the port now and in the future.

Attendees will also hear about the port’s wider contribution to the local economy and its links with land, logistics, and development.

This visit offers a valuable opportunity for members to gain first-hand insight, ask questions, and engage directly with senior leadership, followed by discussion and networking with fellow CLA members
  • 10:00 – Arrival, tea, coffee and introductions
  • 10:15 – Presentation by Bill Reeves, followed by Q&A
  • 11:00 – Site tour by minibus
  • 12:00 – Buffet lunch
  • 13:00 – End of visit

  • Photo ID is mandatory: All attendees must bring a valid photo ID card. Entry to the port will not be permitted without it.
  • Footwear: Please wear sensible, closed-toe footwear, as the visit includes a working port environment.
