We are delighted and extremely grateful to be able to offer you the opportunity to join us for our AGM and late summer social at Farleigh Wallop Estate, Hampshire.

Farleigh Wallop Estate is a historic 4,000-acre country estate located near Basingstoke in North Hampshire. The estate has been home to the Wallop family since the 15th century and is centred around the magnificent Farleigh House. Today, the estate combines traditional land stewardship with modern farming, forestry, residential properties, events, and environmental conservation.

Farming remains at the heart of the estate's operations. The estate manages approximately 3,000 acres of farmland and produces a diverse range of crops using sustainable farming practices and modern agricultural technology. The varied Hampshire soils, including chalk, clay, and flint, support a mixture of arable crops grown for food, drink, animal feed, and renewable energy.

In addition to farming, Farleigh Wallop Estate manages over 1,000 acres of woodland, including areas of ancient woodland. The forestry operation supports biodiversity, wildlife habitats, and sustainable timber production. Wood harvested from the estate is used to fuel a biomass heating system that provides carbon-neutral heat to properties across the estate. The estate has also undertaken significant tree planting projects to enhance biodiversity and contribute to carbon sequestration.

Overall, Farleigh Wallop Estate is a prime example of a modern rural estate, balancing productive agriculture, environmental responsibility, forestry management, and heritage conservation while continuing a farming tradition that has existed for centuries.
