The Midlands team are delighted to invite you to a bespoke visit to Venetia Williams Racing and Herefordshire AGM.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside near Ross on Wye, Aramstone is the perfect place to train racehorses. Starting with only a few stables and half a dozen horses, as Venetia's career flourished Aramstone grew to become the modern racing establishment it is today. 

Today, the stables offer all the up to date facilities associated with training racehorses, including three gallops, an equine pool and, uniquely, 50 turn out paddocks.

Venetia has recorded the most wins by a lady trainer in the history of National Hunt Racing and is one of the top ten trainers in the country. 

She learnt her early skills understudying some of the best trainers, not only in the UK but across the world, in France, Australia and the USA. Additional experience as an amateur jockey and riding in The Grand National has resulted in a unique approach to the challenges of National Hunt training. 

Throughout her career, Venetia has won many significant races but none more so than in 2009 when Mon Mome triumphed in The Grand National. She became only the second woman in history to achieve such an accolade.

The day will begin with an introduction to Aramstone Stables by Venetia Williams and a tour of the race yard and chance to watch the gallops.

We will then take a short drive (in own vehicles) to Brockhampton Village Hall for an update on the latest issues affecting members by CLA Vice President, Eliza Ecclestone, followed by a two-course lunch before departure.

To help plan your visit, please note that you will need to drive yourself to the stables and then across to the Village Hall, which is approximately a 10-minute drive away.

As the tours will take place outdoors, we recommend wearing suitable footwear and clothing so you can enjoy the experience comfortably. Please note that toilet facilities at the race yard are limited and refreshments will not be provided there, although there is a nearby Costa Coffee if you would like to pick something up before you arrive.
