Through the Water Wise programme, CLA Cymru is proud to host the first Welsh River Summit for the River Wye, bringing together farmers, stakeholders and experts to focus on practical solutions at a catchment scale. At the heart of this work is the strength of peer-to-peer learning, with farmers sharing real experience and demonstrating how data led decision making at a grassroots level is improving land and nutrient management. This collaborative approach is already helping to deliver measurable improvements in both soil health and water quality across the catchment. There is also a clear need to build confidence in real time, on farm data to guide decisions, rather than relying solely on modelling based on outdated information, ensuring that actions taken are both relevant and effective for today’s farming systems.
The Summit is to be held at the Royal Welsh show Ground on October 1st, 2026. Offering an opportunity to bring together those living and working in the Upper Wye catchment.
This is a free event to all to attend, supported by Welsh Government through the Wye Nutrient Management Board.
CLA Cymru Water Wise programme 2026-2007 will be focused on the Cleddau catchment in Pembrokeshire. To find out more about events later in the year including an online webinar please keep an eye on our e.news emails or get in touch with the CLA Cymru team.
