CLA Cymru: Water Wise - DWR Cymru Water Treatment Works visit

'Have you ever wondered how Welsh Water secure a safe drinking water supply to over 1.4 million homes and businesses across Wales, 365 days of the year?

Join CLA Cymru's WaterWise programme for a visit to the Bolton Hill Welsh Water drinking plant near Haverfordwest to go behind the scenes of how Welsh Water secures supply across Pembrokeshire and beyond. Learn how Welsh Water manage their water sources from the reservoirs, rivers and springs in the area to optimise for different weather patterns throughout the year. Tour the equipment used to filter and disinfect 'raw water' until its safe for use. Discuss your questions with Welsh Water technicians.

CLA Cymru's WaterWise programme runs a programme of visits, workshops and webinars to discuss how farmers and landowners can support river health.'

• Uses a dissolved air flotation (DAF) plant.
• Rapid gravity filters (RGF).
• Granular activated carbon (GAC) contactor vessels to reduce dissolved organic
Chlorine contact tanks for final disinfection.

Recent Investments:
• Welsh Water invested £2.4 million into the site to boost water quality and network resilience, as highlighted during a visit by Senedd Member Paul Davies.
