Courteenhall Estate , The Estate Office, Courteenhall, Northampton ,
NN7 2QD
Courteenhall is a beautiful, private estate, centred around the late 18th Century Hall.
Courteenhall manages a diverse range of land, environmental and property interests. During this visit
you will learn about the continued commitment to conservation that ensures the Estate is not only
farming to feed people and livestock, but also to enable wildlife to thrive.
As part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme there is a wealth of wildlife, which the Estate works
hard to protect, and it is home to a variety of birds that are red-listed.
The Estate is proud to be part of
the Tove Valley Farm Cluster, a collective of local farmers in South Northamptonshire who work together
in order to go beyond the environmental stewardship schemes they are in.
Multiple ground source heat pumps are in place at Courteenhall, including at the main house and the
poultry farm. These utilise pipes buried deep underground to extract stored heat, providing one of the
most energy efficient ways of heating properties. There are solar panels on many rooftops and land is
used to transform wind into energy, with the Estate being one of four farms that form Roade Wind Farm.
The Estate’s extensive business interests also include commercial and residential properties, a pheasant
breeding business and a poultry farm.
This visit is by kind permission of the Wake family.
