CLA Next Generation Annual Briefing and Dinner 2022

The CLA is delighted to announce the inaugural national Next Generation Briefing and Dinner at Bradford Estates, Shropshire, on Tuesday 13 and Wednesday 14 September 2022.

Aimed primarily at those who make up the CLA Next Generation Group, the event is open to the sons and daughters of CLA Landowning members. It is vitally important for the next generation of landowners to form meaningful connections with the CLA and their peers both locally and nationally. To this end, we urge you to encourage your successors to take part in the Briefing to learn, discuss and challenge future priorities for the next generation of rural land and business owners in England and Wales.

The event will begin on Tuesday evening with a pre-dinner drinks reception taking place from 18.45 - 19.30. This will be followed by a three-course dinner where we will be joined by CLA National Officers and an after-dinner guest speaker (to be announced shortly).

On Wednesday 14 September, arrival is from 9.30am for a 10am start. The day
will provide the opportunity to learn about the innovative strategies introduced by Alexander Newport since he assumed full-time management responsibilities of Bradford Estates in 2019. Strategies that the next generation of landowners need to ensure your farm or estate thrives in the long term. There will be a two-course lunch and tours of the forestry, farming and leisure activities at Bradford Estate. The day will finish at 5pm.

Alexander and his team – including Farm Manager Oliver Scott, Property Director Steve Farrow, and Construction Director Alastair Hollands – will talk through the farming, leisure, forestry, housebuilding, and estate management activities at the Bradford Estates and will be available to discuss any questions that arise.

Speakers will also cover topical discussions on natural capital, environmental land management and nature-based solutions, with experts from the CLA and Strutt & Parker.

This is sure to be an inspiring day that will allow your successors to come away with lots of ideas that they can apply in the future.

The next generation of landowners – your sons and daughters – will find great benefit from being part of interactive conversations with each other and CLA advisers can who offer invaluable insight.

We have an early-bird ticket (£50+VAT) available until Thursday 11 August.
