Succession Planning, finding a solution - developing a strategy 

Succession planning is notorious for being one of those things that is often left to be dealt with on another day. Despite that, succession planning is one of the most important tasks facing any landowner.

If you leave major decisions about the future of your business and assets too late, you may have to make them without time for proper consideration, and at a time of great stress. It can also result in more limited and less tax efficient options.

The CLA is hosting a series of events across the country to help members with their succession planning. It is an opportunity to hear from the CLA tax team and our sponsors Irwin Mitchell will talk through the practical, tax and legal considerations, using illustrative case studies. We will also be joined by an experienced facilitator to talk through the practical aspects of succession planning and how to start the discussion over ‘fairness’ with family members. 

Events across the East will be held on the following dates: 

Thursday 13 October - Buckminster Village Hall, Leicestershire (joint with the Midlands). You can book here.
Tuesday 15 November - Knebworth Golf Course, Hertfordshire 
Wednesday 16 November - Wingfield Barns, Diss, Suffolk 

Each seminar will conclude with an audience Q&A session and an opportunity to ask your questions to our advisory team. Tea, coffee and breakfast pastries will be severed during registration.

One family member attending is required to purchase one paid ticket for the event. If you wish to book any additional complimentary tickets (free of charge) for family members, please contact your regional office.

Non-members who join the CLA on the day of the event will be refunded the cost of their ticket.
