How to succeed with diversification

The CLA invites you to an exclusive event that will provide invaluable insight to help your rural diversification project become a success story.

Hosted at The Granary Estates, a spectacular wedding and events venue situated in a 16th century barn on the Suffolk/Cambridgeshire border, you will hear from a range of speakers who have expertise to assist you on your diversification journey.

CLA specialists will talk through key diversification considerations, introduce the CLA Tourism Strategy and discuss areas of lobbying currently being undertaken on behalf of members.

Representatives from the tourism, leisure and events team at Savills will discuss the positives and potential pitfalls of operating a diversification project in-house and whether outsourcing to a third party is an option to be considered. They will cover weddings venues, holiday accommodation and glamping as well as outdoor events and festivals.

Speakers from Anglia Rural Consultants will talk about the pitfalls to avoid when undertaking a diversification project and update on potential grants available.

You will hear from a range of case studies where people have undertaken ambitious diversification projects of their own. They will share their success stories and the mistakes they made along the way with their own businesses. Among these will be the owner and managing director of The Granary Estates, Guy Taylor.

Ensors will explain the tax implications of different business structures when running diversification projects.

After the presentations you will have an opportunity to speak to experts in one-to-one breakout sessions, where you can discuss your specific idea and ask questions you might have.

Your ticket includes a two course lunch and refreshments throughout the day.
