at the CLA Kent Branch summer event and AGM 2023.
You are invited to join us on Tuesday, 23 May from 3.30pm to 8pm to see first-hand how this historic family estate has diversified.
Quex Park operates in the farming, leisure and property sectors. The team farms over 1,000 acres with a further 1,200 acres under contract agreements with other farmers. Main crops include wheat, oilseed rape, oats, beans, potatoes and vining pea seed, and on the marshland a herd of Sussex cattle is grazed.
In recent years, Quex Park has widened its income streams by re-purposing disused agricultural buildings, transforming it into an educational and visitor destination too. This includes a hugely successful farm shop, restaurant, two schools, livery stables and riding schools, alongside an events calendar that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year.
Quex Park works with groups including the Nature Friendly Farming Network (NFFN), LEAF, Kent Wildlife Trust and the RSPB as part of its conservation activities. It's one of the first port of calls on the Kent coast for migratory birds, and 145 bird species have now been identified on Quex land, some of which are on the endangered list.
Quex Park champions a method of farming that is sustainable, productive and pro-active in producing nutritious food, while working in sympathy with nature and conservation. Employing such conservation methods enables the estate to nurture wildlife, balance biodiversity and preserve the land for the future.
