CLA Cymru: Mostyn Hall visit - North Wales Branch AGM 2023

This event is now closed - contact 07817 128277 if you wish to attend
Since 1660 the hall has been the seat of the Mostyn Baronets, and since 1831, of the barons Mostyn. In the 1840s the 1st Baron Mostyn commissioned architect Ambrose Poynter to remodel the house, which was carried out mainly in 1846–47 in a Jacobethan style inspired by the pre-existing building.

Mostyn Estates Limited is a private limited company which manages the interests of the Mostyn family across North Wales and elsewhere. The principal areas of activity are its commercial, residential and agricultural holdings within Llandudno, together with its agricultural estates based round Rhewl and Tremostyn, Flintshire.

The Mostyn family connection with Llandudno and Flintshire began over 500 years ago. The majority of the town as we know it today was laid out in 1849 by the Mostyn family, who leased most of the plots for development and influenced the building design and uses of the land.
Post AGM proceedings we will have a presentation from Stephen Gladwin, Estate Manager and host for the event regarding history of the house and family and current projects and business challenges that the estate are facing.

A guided tour of the house and gardens will follow before lunch in the Great Hall.

Lunch menu - Warm quiche, salads & jacket/new potatoes, cheese board & cheesecake
Please confirm any dietary requirements on booking.

Meet in the Great Hall for refreshments at 10.00am.
