The CLA Next Generation Conference and Dinner returns for its second year on Wednesday 1 and Thursday 2 May 2024. Hosted at the Whitbourne Estate by kind permission of the Evans family, this diversified family business consists of 350 acres of productive forestry, an organic home farm, a wedding and events venue, residential property, two tenant farms and a care farm charity.
Taking place at the estate’s events space, Crumplebury, managed by Artemis, the conference and dinner is an opportunity to meet up with other young entrepreneurs and land managers and discuss personal and future business development as well as current and future opportunities and challenges. This event is for those who have recently taken over the family business or will do so shortly and will count towards your Continuing Professional Development.
On Wednesday 1 May at 6.30pm, the event will start with welcome drinks followed by dinner. Victoria Vyvyan, CLA President, will lead a post-dinner discussion.
On Thursday 2 May, Joe Evans, CLA Vice President, will give an honest and open insight into his experiences of running and developing business on the family estate. Following this, a range of speakers will share their own stories and experiences about succession and success. After lunch, there will be tours of the forestry and farming business and the care farm. Speakers will talk about natural capital, environmental land management and nature-based solutions, with experts from the CLA and event partners Knight Frank. The event will finish at 4.30pm.
