The Midlands team are delighted to invite you to a bespoke visit to The National Memorial Arboretum and Staffordshire AGM.
The National Memorial Arboretum is the Nation’s place to remember; a 150-acre site on the edge of the National Forest in Staffordshire. Part of the Royal British Legion family of charities, it welcomes over 300,000 visitors each year to commemorate the service and sacrifice given by the military, emergency services and civilian organisations.
This extraordinary visitor site is home to circa 25,000 trees, punctuated by over 400 memorials and sits on the confluence of the River Trent and River Tame.
The afternoon will begin with the AGM and an update on the latest policy work and matters affecting members by CLA Vice President, Joe Evans and an introduction from Mark Ellis, National Memorial Arboretum lead on their current and recent projects, followed by afternoon tea.
The day will include a guided walking tour of the stories, design and symbolism of the memorials, once the site is closed to the public and a gallery tour on the D-Day 80 exhibition, followed by a drinks reception.
Please ensure to wear suitable footwear and clothing as the tours will take place outdoors.
