The awards presentation and drinks reception will be hosted by the 2023 recipient, Watts Farms. Last summer Caroline Ayears-Johnson (pictured above, with Paul Cobb of FWAG who nominate the winners) and the Watts team were praised for their work supporting farmland birds and rare plant species.
The family-run business operates across multiple sites producing more than 60 different crops. It farms over 600 hectares, growing dozens of varieties of vegetables, fruits, salads and herbs from asparagus to mint, supplying over 500 restaurants as well major retailers and the NHS.
During the event you will have a tour of the farm learning about all the crops they grow and how they harvest them, taking in the basil tunnels to the fields full of Deptford pinks, they will talk about the work they are doing with Cranfield university and their wildlife projects.
