This seminar is aimed at those who run an equine business, plan to purchase or rent equestrian property or have horses at home. Among the topics are planning and legal issues, rural crime challenges, tax planning and business structures and insurance.
Hosted at the world class facility Chedington Equestrian, the event will also include an introduction and tour of the facilities.
The horse industry is considered more varied than any other agricultural sector or in the wider leisure industry. There are activities based on the use, possession and ownership of horses or those that supply goods to the equestrian industry. According to recent statistics from the British Equestrian Trade Association (BETA) there are approximately 27 million people with an interest in the equestrian industry and an estimated 374k horse owning households in the UK.
BETA’s statistics also recognised that around 22% of those returning to riding activity had a lack of access to horses and riding facilities – meaning there might be a market out there for new businesses.
This seminar will explore a wide range of subjects from liveries to legislation with experts in the field. Following the seminar and a sandwich lunch we will view Chedington Equestrian Centre’s facilities. Tack marking will be available through Dorset Rural Crime Team.
If you are unable to make the seminar but interested in receiving the information and presentations given, please register your interest and book now.
