Navigating the Agricultural Transition
What does the new Labour government mean for farming businesses in our region?
The new government has been elected midway through the agricultural transition in England. 2024 Basic Payment Scheme receipts will be at least 50% of the pre-cut 2020 rates and new Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes are up and running.
They have said they will continue to roll out and improve the Environmental Land Management schemes, including the Sustainable Farming Incentive expanded offer.
The first hour will look into the latest policy developments under the new Labour government, including SFI, CS and other transition schemes. Our headline sponsor Ceres Rural will talk about how they can offer farm businesses advisory support and Catchment Sensitive Farming will outline their free advisory offer. The second hour will offer attendees the chance to ask the speakers questions and network. The Forestry Commission will also be in attendance.
There will be a number of documents referred to on the day. Many of the documents can be found on our Transition Hub. We will also circulate the presentation slides post event and upload to our regional news webpages.
During these two-hour sessions you will hear directly from:-
• Future Farming Resilience Fund representatives
• the Forestry Commission
• representatives from the Catchment Sensitive Farming and Rural Payments Agency (RPA)
• CLA experts who will discuss what the latest policy developments could mean for you and provide practical advice
There will also be opportunities for CLA members to raise specific questions with CLA experts, Ceres Rural, a Future Farming Resilience Fund provider, Forestry Commission, representatives from Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) and Rural Payments Agency (RPA).
These events are priced at £12.00 inc vat per person.
