Navigating the Agricultural Transition

What does the new Labour government mean for farming businesses in our region?

The new government has been elected midway through the agricultural transition in England. 2024 Basic Payment Scheme receipts will be at least 50% of the pre-cut 2020 rates and new Environmental Land Management (ELM) schemes are up and running.

They have said they will continue to roll out and improve the Environmental Land Management schemes, including the Sustainable Farming Incentive expanded offer.

During these two-hour sessions you will hear directly from:-

a Future Farming Resilience Fund Representatives
the Forestry Commission
representatives from the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) including Catchment Sensitive Farming and Rural Payments Agency (RPA)
CLA experts who will discuss what the latest policy developments could mean for you and provide practical advice

There will also be opportunities for CLA members to raise specific questions with CLA experts, Ceres Rural, a Future Farming Resilience Fund provider, Forestry Commission, representatives from Defra including Catchment Sensitive Farming (CSF) and Rural Payments Agency (RPA).
