The CLA Next Generation Conference and Dinner returns for its third year on Wednesday 20 April and Thursday 1 May 2025. Hosted at Ivy Lodge in Cirencester Park, Bathurst Estate by kind permission of Cripps Barn Group and The Earl of Bathurst.  The Bathurst Estate comprises of businesses including property lettings, property development, farming, forestry, leisure and hospitality.

Taking place at Cripps Barn Group's latest development project Ivy Lodge, the conference and dinner is an opportunity to meet up with other young entrepreneurs and land managers to discuss personal and future business development, as well as current and future opportunities and challenges. This event is for those who have recently taken over the family business or will do so shortly and will count towards your Continuing Professional Development.

We will begin on the evening of Wednesday 30 April with a drinks reception and canapés at Ivy Lodge followed by a two-course dinner; guests will be joined by the CLA President Victoria Vyvyan, and enjoy an after-dinner address from our guest speaker (TBC). Carriages at 11pm.

On the second day you will hear from a variety of speakers offering technical updates as well as a wider inspiring and thought-provoking programme on building the right mindset and tackling changing times.

Following a two-course Asado lunch we will hear from Peter Clegg, Chief Executive Officer for Bathurst Estate, who will give us an insight into the successes and pitfalls of developing enterprises on the Estate. There will be coach tours of the Estate’s enterprises:

• Ewe Pen Farm, where you will learn of an alternative approach to diversifying and preserving assets as part of an estate
• The Broad Avenue, talking through the restoration and management of the historic avenues, following through to the Park’s new Visitor Centre
• Hullasey residential development via Kemble, the agreed structure with the developers including the Estate’s best practice and lessons learned
