CLA East: Lincolnshire Summer Visit and AGM 2025

This visit to A. H. Worth is a unique opportunity to hear about how a fourth generation, family-owned business offers the very best in quality and value in the world of farming and fresh produce.

Established in 1895 in Holbeach Marsh, this vast farming operation, covering 8,500 acres, produces a variety of vegetables, from potatoes, leeks, spinach, kale and cavolo nero to retail, food service, wholesale and food manufacturing.

Maize crops feed the farms 1.5MW anaerobic digester, supplying over 90% of the site’s electricity requirements. Wheat is a major break crop within the farms root and vegetable rotation. Your host for the day will be Duncan Worth, who is CEO of the family business. Duncan joined the business in 1995 having been through a graduate scheme then working in London as a buyer for Tesco and a contract caterer.

You will join Duncan on a tractor and trailer tour of the farming operation and visit a packhouse where fresh produce is prepared for a key retailer. You will hear about the importance the farm places on sustainability and its close connection to the local community.

During the visit you will also learn about A. H. Worth’s Spanish and Italian farming operations that contribute to the year-round supply of produce into the UK.

Visit by kind permission of the Worth family.
