CLA Breakfast at Groundswell, 3rd July 2025

Please note there will be no meat free hot baps. There will be yoghurt and granola pots which are suitable for vegetarians and gluten free.

The Groundswell Festival provides a forum for farmers, growers, or anyone interested in food production and the environment to learn about the theory and practical applications of regenerative farming systems.

This year, the CLA will be hosting an informal breakfast for CLA members and non-members on our CLA stand DF E30, on the second day, Thursday 3rd July. From 7.30am – 8.45am you can enjoy breakfast rolls and fresh tea and coffee. We will be joined by CLA President Victoria Vyvyan who will give a brief update and opportunity to ask any questions about policy. We will also be joined by guest speaker Vicky Robinson.

Vicky’s career combines her passion for farming and the environment. Twenty-two years with Natural England working on delivery and policy implementation of agri-environment including Countryside Stewardship and ELMs before becoming LEAFs Technical Director. Vicky is now Head of Sustainability at Agricultural Industries Confederation, leading the trade associations sustainability work.

A 2019 Nuffield Scholar Vicky sits on the advisory group of Agricology, steering groups of two farmer clusters and is a trustee of Wild Oxfordshire and The Frank Parkinson Agricultural Trust.

It is the perfect opportunity to network with others in the farming industry and enjoy a relaxed, informative start to your busy day.

We will be at the show on both days. We will be at stand DF E 30.

Please note, you will need to purchase your ticket separately for Groundswell.

We will be holding some roundtable discussions on our stand during the show days. Details listed below. CLA Land Use Policy team will be available on our stand throughout the day should you have any questions.

Wednesday 2 July at 11:00am - John Gilliland, Land sparing or land sharing

Professor John Gilliland, expert in sustainable agriculture land management practice and policy, and advisor AHDB and their member on the Food Data Transparency Partnership will join the CLA for a roundtable discussion about land sparing or sharing. He will lead a discussion on the importance of baselining for individual businesses and for government, and how we can achieve the right balance, for food security, nature recovery and climate action.
