Rural communities are facing increasing pressure from rising housing costs, limited local supply and changing demographics. Many landowners are actively exploring how they can play a role in addressing these challenges—while creating long-term value and supporting the resilience of their communities.
This in-depth event brings together the CLA South West, GRCC (Gloucestershire Rural Community Council), ACRE (Action with Communities in Rural England), and industry experts to provide a comprehensive overview of how affordable rural housing can be delivered in practice.
Across the day, members will gain clarity on:
• The key delivery models available to landowners
• Costs, risks and financial considerations for affordable schemes
• Working collaboratively with GRCC and community stakeholders
• National policy, funding routes, and planning requirements
• How to identify, promote and unlock land for rural housing
• Real-world examples and case studies from the region
Following a light lunch and networking, the event concludes with a guided tour of one of GRCC’s active affordable housing projects.
A full agenda and confirmed speaker list will be published shortly.
