About Mapperton Wildlands

Mapperton Wildlands is recognised as Dorset’s most spectacular rewilding project, where natural grazing, regenerative farming and low-intervention land management are restoring a mosaic of habitats. Highlights include:

• Free-roaming native grazers such as White Park cattle and Exmoor ponies, shaping habitat diversity.
• Expanding scrub, ponds, and wetlands, vital for supporting flourishing wildlife communities.
• How the reintroduction of beavers contributes to natural flood management and biodiversity enhancement.
