The Midlands team invite you to a bespoke visit to Chillington Hall combined with the Staffordshire AGM.

Chillington Hall is owned and run by Charlie and Tessa Giffard, the 30th generation of the Giffard family to make this remarkable estate their home. While much of the farmland and residential property is contract farmed, the parkland and woodlands surrounding the Hall are directly managed by the Giffard family’s estate team.

The Estate includes ancient woodlands and an historic landscape created in the 1760’s by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown, who designed much of the park and arboretum. Today, the team continue an active programme of biodiversity management, supporting species-rich grassland, traditional parkland, hedgerows and woodland. Chillington is undergoing a generational shift from a traditional estate to a modern, diversified estate to keep itself relevant in a changing world.

The day will begin with the Staffordshire AGM and an update on current issues affecting members, delivered by a CLA officer. This will be followed by an introduction to Chillington Estate and its ongoing projects from Charlie Giffard.

Guests will then enjoy a guided tour of Chillington Hall, exploring its architecture, interiors and almost 850 years of captivating family history. A second tour will include a trailer ride through the beautiful park, taking in The Pool, the elegant Grecian Temple, and rich woodland. This tour will cover the creation of the historic landscape, current outdoor events, shoots and simulated game days.

A two-course lunch will be served, after which groups will rotate so delegates can experience both tours.

Please ensure suitable footwear and clothing are worn, as parts of the day will involve outdoor walking.
